Hey yall, I have worked with year 8 students at ‘Accelerated School’ in LA. I was a guest speaker for the subject HipHop, I shared my experience with the ages 12-13 years old students about being a female in HipHop and how to positively be respected as a female artist and entertainer. I shared with them the elements in HipHop and asked them how do they perceive women in HipHop? The answers were sad, example as 12 year olds they even know” that the girls, ladies are being exploited and are seen as not positive” I asked them how many positive females are heard in HipHop and they could not say anyone, blessings due to them being polite and encouraging they voted me as one
( hugs) I introduced them and reminded them to Mc Lyte, Queen Latifa, Lauryn Hill, Bohamadia and Missy Elliot and highlighting Eve’s, Queen Latifa and Mc Lyte’s progess as an actors and how this business can gain you entrepeniorial skills. We had a ball. So much we shared. We each learnt alot from one another and I just communicated with them and related ways that the choice of music I do which is HipHop is a way for me to allow my mind to create and explore words thru dictionaries and practicing writing skills on notepads;) Letting them know the behind scenes in the music business which assisted them to become alert and that their life is special and no different than their chosen celebrity;) Also expressing that artists work hard for their respect thru hard labor and study their craft , just like they the students of year 8 should their subjects at school so they will become an entrepenior in their life;) The program I will become very interested to keep apart of, by visiting these new young minds and smart individuals on the regular is ” The Foundation”
On Friday 8th December, my darlings had presented for The Accelerated School and Kanye’s West Foundation called ” I CAN” a celebration of HipHop culture which was written by the Loop Dream students and teachers. The Students performed by rapping conscious lyrics and expressed themselves thru acting skits, poetry and break-dancing. Having poems about Graffiti, Love and a great song about ‘Never giving up’.It was so refreshing and a blessing to hear positive HipHop from our new generation who is and will protect our culture of wonderful messages to educate all ages minds:)
Blessings to my buddies at TAS & Sebastian in LA …Thank you for such support and mad respect:) it was a pleasure being apart of each class period from 1st thru 6th and as the guest host at your Loop dreams concert.
Remember darlin’s “No matter be yourself” Always believe in your goals and to buy your 99c dictionary we going thru the alphabet. Have any questions I am on myspace for you.. Blessings.
Anyway The HipHop Foundation is dedicated to combating the dropout problem in the nations schools and has chosen as its first initiative a compelling music program.
The program that The HipHop Foundation has been provided to design is to support the fight to keep music and instruments and by adding street awareness in the schools. The HipHop Foundation will provide opportunities for students to learn how to write and produce music while simultaneously improving their academic skills. Rap Music Empowers Youth
..Community based organization launches Rap music program designed to empower ‘at-risk’ inner-city teens…
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 3, 2006 ..- The Urban Youth Empowerment Foundation, an organization which uses urban trends and popular youth culture to empower youth, will be introducing a Hip Hop Artist Development program for at-risk youth living in South Los Angeles.
Recognizing that Rap music is a dominant form of expression for inner city youth, the Foundation has developed a free, a program for aspiring rappers between the ages of 14 and 21. This program will begin by teaching participants about the history of Hip Hop culture and follow with a wide range of topics ranging from songwriting techniques to live performance. With an emphasis on positive and socially conscious lyrics, participants will work collectively on their own songs to be unveiled and performed live at the culminating Hip Hop showcase.
The Foundation..s founder, Sebastien ..Dome.. Elkouby says, ..It makes sense to use Rap music, the one thing that has our youth..s attention, to address the extremely important issues that affect them everyday. This will show that Rap music can be used in a positive way, contrary to what many believe…..

“Napoleon Hill ”
Here are some interesting observations by one of the greatest gurus on achieving success, Napoleon Hill:
“Whatever your mind can conceive and believe it can achieve.” – Napoleon Hill
“Before us lie two paths — honesty and dishonesty. The shortsighted embark on the dishonest path; the wise on the honest. For the wise know the truth; in helping others we help ourselves; and in hurting others we hurt ourselves. Character overshadows money, and trust rises above fame. Honesty is still the best policy.
“Understand this law and you will then know, beyond room for the slightest doubt, that you are constantly punishing yourself for every wrong you commit and rewarding yourself for every act of constructive conduct in which you indulge.”
“Cherish your visions and your dreams as they are the children of your soul, the blueprints of your ultimate achievements.”
“Effort only fully releases its reward after a person refuses to quit.”
“Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed on an equal or greater benefit.”
“Hold a picture of yourself long and steadily enough in your mind’s eye, and you will be drawn toward it.”
“If you do not conquer self, you will be conquered by self.”
“One must marry one’s feelings to one’s beliefs and ideas. That is probably the only way to achieve a measure of harmony in one’s life.”
“The ladder of success is never crowded at the top.”
“The majority of men meet with failure because of their lack of persistence in creating new plans to take the place of those which fail.”
“Until you have learned to be tolerant with those who do not always agree with you; until you have cultivated the habit of saying some kind word of those whom you do not admire; until you have formed the habit of looking for the good instead of the bad there is in others, you will be neither successful nor happy.”
“War grows out of the desire of the individual to gain advantage at the expense of his fellow man.”
“When defeat comes, accept it as a signal that your plans are not sound, rebuild those plans, and set sail once more toward your coveted goal.”
“You must get involved to have an impact. No one is impressed with the won-lost record of the referee.”
“I have proved, times too numerous to enumerate, to my own satisfaction at least, that every human brain is both a broadcasting and a receiving station for vibrations of thought frequency.
“If this theory should turn out to be a fact, and methods of reasonable control should be established, imagine the part it would play in the gathering, classifying and organising of knowledge. The possibility, much less the probability, of such a reality, staggers the mind of man!”
“The sixth sense is that portion of the subconscious mind which has been referred to as the creative imagination. It has also been referred to as the ‘receiving set’ through which ideas, plans and thoughts flash into the mind. The flashes are sometimes called hunches or inspirations.
“The sixth sense defies description! It cannot be described to a person who has not mastered the other principles of this philosophy, because such a person has no knowledge and no experience with which the sixth sense may be compared. Understanding the sixth sense comes only by meditation through mind development from within.
“After you have mastered the principles described in this book, you will be prepared to accept as truth a statement which may, otherwise, be incredible to you, namely:
“Through the aid of the sixth sense, you will be warned of impending dangers in time to avoid them and notified of opportunities in time to embrace them.
“There comes to your aid and to do your bidding, with the development of the sixth sense, a ‘guardian angel’ who will open to you at all times the door to the temple of wisdom.”
– Napoleon Hill

Greetings all, I’ma introduce myself on a personal note. Describing myself as “MIRRAH” the artist is, ‘unique and refreshing’.
“I first grew up into having a heart of a B-girl, when HipHop was introduced to me with breakdance battles with a crew on Venice Beach, CA. I loved how a beat and vibe could be expressed by beatboxin’ and dance moves with an MC hyping the crowd which gathered more viewers as our beach audience.
It made me feel great, a self expression that was great for a 4 year ol’. I write poetry & rhyme lyrics and, also share ideas with my writing team to share personal experiences or of those that I have seen and heard about which people may empathize with.
As I grew and matured, the females that made me feel comfortable of my natural low & croaky, raspy vocal tone gave me strength and inspired me when listening to their lyrical content, and style such great women to name a few were Nina Simone, MC Lyte, Bohamadia, Tboz & TLC. Each artist was a pioneer to me as they kept their own vibe and expressed true feelings upon each song be it good or bad situations. Having grown up around the world, I have been cultured to adapt to dialects and cultures easily. Which makes “Mirrah” my birthname to reflect and respond spiritually with an open mind and heart. Mirrah’s experience as a female emcee has given her many exciting opportunities and one is having Flavor Flav’s performance back experiencing as his female Hypeman of Public Enemy 1 for some years now.
My hobbies are typical tomboy ways, I love sk8teboarding, ( I’m not great at it but its my personal rush to practice daily and lol when I fall on my @ss! I also love to ride BMX’s down hills and off sh!( like I’m 5 years old, lol) But really I love having fun around supportive and fun folks. I’m a goof ball, yet I have finally learnt the true means of maturity and acting selfless towards another. I love giving, especially to those who I feel honor my being. I have recently just found and believe in my outer beauty, with out being egotistical and am now having fun taking photos for my album and modeling opportunities.

MTV Australia Video Music Awards
On: Sunday, 29 April 2007
At: Acer Arena, Sydney
Pink, Teddy Geiger and Damien Leith join 30 Seconds to Mars, Good Charlotte, and Fergie in the line up of performers set to rock the stage at the 2007 MTV Australia Video Music Awards to be held at Acer Arena, April 29.
The show which has promised to deliver ‘bigger and better’ is certainly on its way to achieving just that with secured talent for the show already including Fergie and Good Charlotte as main show hosts, Perez Hilton and Sophie Monk as red carpet hosts.
The multiple Grammy winning Pink is also up for 5 Awards. Australian Idol winner Damien Leith who is currently working on his 2nd album has been nominated for 2 awards and US heart-throb Teddy Geiger will make a special trip down under for his nomination in the Spanking New Artist Category.
The daughter of Grammy and Academy Award winning performer Lionel Richie will accompany her Good Charlotte beau Joel Madden to the April 29 event in her first Australian visit.
The 25-year-old’s star rose after filming her travelling adventures opposite hotel heiress Paris Hilton for reality program, The Simple Life in 2003.
Since then, Richie’s personal life has been splashed across tabloid magazines around the world raising speculation on everything from her weight to who she’s dating.
Richie also made headlines following the program’s debut when she was arrested for heroin possession.
Richie joins a bevy of international talent including Black Eyed Peas frontwoman, Fergie, and Good Charlotte’s identical twins Benji and Joel Madden who are hosting the awards ceremony.
The event has also drawn other high-profile guests including punk rocker Pink, Kristen Cavallari of US TV program Laguna Beach and 30 Seconds To Mars frontman Jared Leto.
Australian singer turned Hollywood star Sophie Monk and fiancee of Benji Madden will host a red carpet special with celebrity blogger Perez Hilton and multiple ARIA award winners Eskimo Joe, dance outfit TV Rock vs Dukes of Windsor and Sneaky Sounds System will perform on the night.
Leading the charge for MTV Australia gongs is Sexy Back singer Justin Timberlake, who dominates with six nominations, while America’s punk/rock superstar Pink follows with five nominations.
Standout local artists Eskimo Joe and Wolfmother will go head-to-head for best group, while Adelaide hip-hop masters Hilltop Hoods sit alongside Eminem and Snoop Dogg in the best hip-hop video category.
Voting for the awards can be done via the Australian MTV website or by mobile phone SMS, lines closing on April 28.
Winners will be announced at the official MTV Australian Video Music Awards ceremony held at Sydney Olympic Park’s Acer Arena.
Walking the Red Carpet: Australian MTV VJ’s Jason Dundas, Lyndsey Rodrigues, Maz Compton, Darren McMullen, Nathen Sapford.
Artists: Teddy Geiger, Damien Leath, Pink, Nicole Richie, The Good Charlottes, Fergie, Mirrah, Roc Raida, HillTopHoods, DJ P-Money, Perez Hilton, Sophie Monk and more greats.
Mirrah is Hosting the MTV Music After Party, which includes New Zealands finests P-Money, Adelaide’s Hilltop Hoods, Roc Raida , Bronx, NY, and Sydneys own DJ Samrai. Unfortunatley due to controversial US rapper Snoop Dogg, who pleaded no contest to felony gun and drug charges last week, he won’t be making it to Hype up the After party with her.
Mirrah has a very distinctive vibe and raspy tone, her trans-cultural style of music, and fashion is influenced from ol’skool “Golden Ages” of HipHop, 80’s pop, Chicago House, Soul/ Jazz and R&B. Being born Indonesian with African decent, raised in Australia and America by adopted caucasian parents. She is proof as a multi-ethnic professional, her sound and vibe is trendsetting. Introducing a refreshing style of music to target the multi-ethnic, cosmopolitan, the metropolitan, the diverse women (her ’sistas’ she quotes) and men across the globe.
Mirrah shares her twist on todays pop culture. Therefore “Mirrah”, is a ‘reflection’ of her surroundings.
